Find a Job

As candidates begin their search for entry level, new, or high paying jobs, there are a number of resources they may utilize.  Job hunting has taken on a more technical approach in recent years, allowing candidates to search, apply, and review job opportunities and job vacancies through online resources.  Although this is becoming the most common way to find a new job, candidates have many options.  These options include classifieds, job fairs, recruiters, agencies, online job boards, and general networking all offer information needed to find employers looking to hire. 

Classified advertisements found online or in newspapers are great ways to find good jobs.  While online services offer broader location and service ranges, newspapers generally focus on local jobs that many candidates find appealing.  Job fairs, in which a single employer or a variety of employers join together to create an environment which allows candidates seeking a job to sort through, and apply for current job openings with many companies may also help with local placements.  Recruiters and agencies, on the other hand, offer their service to employers in return for a placement fee or wage agreement.  They locate, train, test, and screen candidates to find the perfect fit for a single job opening.  Candidates may choose to use the most traditional method of networking, or socializing, with individuals to discover a new job. 

Regardless of the job search method chosen, candidates need to investigate and decide on a specific career path to utilize services to their fullest capacity.  Candidates prepared with resumes formatted for each position, references, letters of recommendation, and a general knowledge of the desired industry will have the best success with their job search.
